GODíS PROMISED LAND TO THE ISRAELITES
Palestinians are demanding Israel to grant them "their land" so that
they can establish their own state. Israel is under duress because the
Palestinians are using suicide bombers to achieve this objective. As a
result, many are getting killed, maimed and injured in both camps in this
conflict. The cycle of violence does not abate. When will peace come?
Who really own "their land"? The owner is no other than God, the true God.
All of us do not own anything in this world for we came here with nothing.
We were born naked.
God, as the owner of that land, has to right to give it to whoever He
chooses. God promised and gave it to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob (Gen. 12:7; 13:15,17; 15:7,18; 17:8; 21:13; 26:3-4; 28:13-15; Acts
7:1-47). Jacob was also known as Israel (Gen. 32:28), and his descendants
are called Israelites.
God did not give the land to the descendants of Ishmael, also a son of
Abraham by the Egyptian slave-girl, Hagar. Ishmael was the forefather of
the Arabs including the Palestinians. God was specific when He promised
"their land" to the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and not to the
descendants of Abraham and Ishmael. If the Palestinians, who are
predominantly Muslims, would accept this fact, then there could be peace.
The Muslims claim that Islam means "submission to God". If this is so, then
they should submit to the will of God that that land was given by God to the
descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
If the Palestinians would accept that the land had been given by God to the
Israelites, would the Palestinians be guaranteed that they would not be
oppressed? I believe so. God commanded the Israelites not to wrong or
oppress a stranger and reminded them that they were strangers in the land of
Egypt. The following verses from the Old Testament of the Good News Bible
1. Ex. 22:21 - "You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were
strangers in the land of Egypt."
2. Ex. 23:9 - "You shall not oppress a stranger; you know the heart of a
stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt."
3. Lev. 19:33-34 - "When a stranger sojourns with you in your land, you
shall not do him wrong. The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you
as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were
strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God."
How do we know that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob who promised and
gave the land to the Israelites is the true God? The test is very simple.
The true God can prophesy and make the prophecy happen whereas the false god
The following are examples of prophecies of God:
1. God promised Abraham that He would give him a son by Sarah who was
already 90 years old. She became pregnant and gave birth to Isaac.
2. God told Moses what to tell the king of Egypt so that the king would
let the Israelites leave the country. They were disasters that would
befall on Egypt. These disasters happened one after another because the
king was stubborn not to believe that they would come true, hence, he
refused to let the Israelites go. The last disaster was the death of all
first born male Egyptian and first born male animals. When this happened,
the king let the Israelites leave.
3. The true God guided approximately one million Israelites into the
wilderness of the Sinai Peninsula for 40 years!
After 40 years, God's promised land to the Israelites (descendants of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob) became a reality! The promise was fulfilled. The
prophecy of the true God was fulfilled. He must really be the true God.
Did Allah in the Koran promise the Saudis that Saudi Arabia is theirs, or
any other land for specific group(s) of people? Did Krishna of the Hindus
promise the Indians in their holy books that India is being given solely to
the Indians? Do the sacred books of the Buddhists promise Thailand to the
Thais, or Cambodia to the Cambodians, etc.? There is no sacred book of any
religion whereby the deity worshipped has granted a certain land to a
certain group of people except the Old Testament. Why? Because the God in
the Old Testament is the true God!
Will the Palestinians accept that the God of Israel is the true God? I hope
they will. I hope that the Palestinians will become aware of the fact to
stop the carnage and for peace to reign on the land. I hope that the
Palestinians will stop the suicide bombing or killing because we have to
realize that we are all brothers and sisters. All of us came from God. He
is the one who gave life to each of us. He is our heavenly Father. Like a
father, does He like that we quarrel with one another or kill one another?
Of course, He does not. So who will enlighten the Palestinian people of
this fact? I hope there will be some who will do so.
Most of us accepted the religion that our parents had. But is that the
correct religion? (Please read about this in
(http://www.geocities.com/peacecrusader888/post013.htm)). How do we know if
its teachings really came from the true God? We have to search the truth
ourselves. What is at stake is our very own soul. Only we, ourselves, can
save our own soul. Not our parents or ancestors but we ourselves. So while
there is still little time left, we have to hurry up and study the different
religions and then decide for ourselves which teachings and beliefs we are
going to accept and believe in. We should not just accept everything in the
religion that our parents and forefathers gave us. We pick up what we
believe is right and just, and discard whatever is wrong. Is killing our
fellowmen correct? It is not, is it? Remember, God can kill us if He wants
to just like what He did to the first-born male Egyptians. He has the right
to do this because He is God, the owner of our soul.
So, who has the right to occupy the land of Israel? If we are going to
accept that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the true God, then it
should be the Israelites.
The peace of God reign in our hearts now and forever.
