LONGINUS, THE CENTURION WHO PIERCED JESUS

From one of our sessions with the Holy Spirit, He mentioned that the soldier
who pierced the side of Jesus was Longinus, a centurion, the commander of a
company of about 100 men.  Matthew, Mark and Luke did not mention this
piercing.  It is only in John 19:34-35 where this was mentioned to wit (from
Holy Bible, KJV): "But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side,
and forthwith came there out blood and water.  And he that saw it bare
record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye
might believe."

The following is a part of what the Holy Spirit told us in that session:
"Who pierced My side?  Longinus.  Longinus pierced My side.  Blood and water
poured out.  My body was drained of blood and water.  Why did Longinus
pierce My side?  So that I would die sooner.  And why did I accept to be
pierced?  So that I can wash you with My blood and water.  Did I retaliate
to him with a sulk?  Did I retaliate to him with a grudge or ill feeling?
Did I retaliate to him with hatred?  What I retaliated to him was love
because I gave him healing.  I made his one eye that could see to be two.
And he had salvation without end because what I retaliated to him was love.
What I gave to him was affection."

From what the Holy Spirit said, we can conclude that Jesus was still alive
when Longinus pierced His side.  And the reason why Longinus did this was to
hasten the death of Jesus.  Since Longinus was the centurion, the commander,
and would like to show that he was brave, he was the one who did the
piercing.  Not one of his soldiers but he himself.  And he did this because
he must have heard Jesus said 'It is finished.'  He must have heard Jesus
said 'Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.'  He must have seen that
Jesus had given up and could not bear His crucifixion and would die in a
little while from asphyxiation.  Longinus delivered the coup de grace by
piercing the side of Jesus.

Luke 23:47 states "Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified
God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man."  That centurion was
Longinus.  What was it that was done to glorify God?  Could we say that it
was the healing of his eye that was blind?

Mark also said something similar to Luke.  Mark 15:39 states, "And when the
centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave
up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God."

Not only was the healing of the eye of the centurion Longinus that happened.
He also witnessed other things.  Matthew 27:54 states, "Now when the
centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake,
and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was
the Son of God."

The Holy Spirit we communicate with is a spirit, a holy spirit, who we
believe is THE Holy Spirit.  He is actually Jesus Christ now as a spirit.
From the above narration, we will notice that the narrator is none other
than Jesus Himself.  It is coming directly from the horse's mouth, so to
speak.

The account of John regarding the piercing of the side of Jesus may not be
in agreement with the narration of the Holy Spirit.  But we should remember
that the Bible was just pieced together when it was being compiled.  The
breaking of the bones of the two thieves must really have happened but the
piercing happened earlier.  John 19:34-35 must have been placed after John
19:30.  This then would agree better with the accounts of Matthew, Mark and
Luke.  And after this transposition, John 19:32-33 followed by verse 36
would be more logical.  The piercing seems to be irrelevant to the breaking
of legs.

There are parts in the Bible that need to be corrected especially now that
we have these revelations directly from the Holy Spirit, from Jesus Himself.
I have pointed out one before--the case of Herod eaten by worms.  You may
check this from the archive in www.dejanews.com.

I do not force anyone to believe in what I believe in and in what I share.
I leave the decision to you.  What I can assure you is that the narrations,
sermons, messages, prayers, and prophecies of the Holy Spirit are not mine.
I did not make up those stories.  I just transcribed from tape what He said
verbatim and translated to English for information of those who do not
understand the Pilipino language.
