MAN CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD
the Holy Bible, King James Version, Genesis 1:26-28 states: And God
said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have
dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over
the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that
creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image
of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed
them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth,
and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl
of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
So, how were we created? We were created in the image of God, in His
likeness. What is God? God is a spirit. What are we then? We are also
spirits. God lives forever, so shall we. And where shall we live forever?
It depends on how we led our lives here on earth. On Judgment Day, God will
reward those who know Him and obeyed Him by accepting them to live with Him
in His kingdom in Heaven. Those who denied Him or disobeyed Him will be
punished and sent to Hell to suffer there forever.
Where is our spirit now? Our spirit resides in our physical body. If there
is no spirit in the physical body, it is dead. It is lifeless. James 2:26
states that the body without the spirit is dead.
How did God form us? Genesis 2:7 states: And the Lord God formed man of the
dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and
man became a living soul.
God formed our physical body from the soil. And since the soil is lifeless,
is inanimate, God breathed the breath of life into this body through the
nostrils. And then it moved. And it became a living soul. We therefore
owe our life to God. He is the one who gave us our life. This is something
basic that we have to understand--that God is our creator and we owe our
life to Him. Since He is the one who created us, He is therefore its owner.
And the owner would like to give life's fullness to His creation so that his
joy may be full. And so the owner even gave His only begotten Son, Jesus,
to save us from sin.
So let us take good care of the part of God in us. Let us avoid sins that
would make that part of God in us filthy. Let us maintain being clean so
that we will be worthy of being a part of God.
